What are Velcro® Hair Rollers?

Velcro® hair rollers are becoming increasingly popular for their comfort, effectiveness, and ease of use. The rollers are essentially comprised of a piece or strips of hook and loop fastener wrapped around cylinders. They come in various sizes and can help to add curls or waves to otherwise flat or lifeless hair. Velcro® hair rollers can be used on on dry or wet hair, and they will give hair extra body and curls.

Various sized Velcro® hair rollers create different sized curls. The larger the rollers, the looser the curls will be. If smaller rollers are used, the curls will be tighter. To create various looks, the user may want to consider buying a selection of Velcro® hair rollers so they can be used for different styles.

Before the rollers are attached, the user should first apply a styling product. The hair should be separated into appropriately-sized sections that will fit each roller. Enough hair should be put onto the roller that it covers it horizontally from end to end; if the rollers are overloaded, however, the curls will not shape correctly. The roller should start at the end of the section and be rolled up until it reaches the hair roots.

If starting with wet hair, the user can attach the rollers, but should not remove them until the hair is completely dry, otherwise the curls will not properly form. The hair can be air-dried or dried with a blow dryer. If starting with dry hair, rollers should be left in for 15 to 20 minutes, starting from after the final roller is attached.

Velcro® hair rollers are usually easy to remove. More often than not, the user will not need to pin the rollers onto the hair as is necessary with most other types of rollers. When removing the rollers, it is best not to pull, as that can damage the hair and ruin the curls that were just created. To remove a roller, the user should hold the roller in one hand with the bottom of the curl in the other, and slowly unroll.

Some prefer Velcro® hair rollers for their ease of use and the results they get. They are also relatively comfortable to sleep in if the user wants curly hair in the morning. If a little extra volume and curl is wanted in a hairstyle, Velcro® hair rollers may be a good way to give a look a positive curly change.

I volunteer back stage at a local community theater and have seen a lot of hair styling being done through the years. I think nothing of seeing women with bright colored velcro rollers sitting high on their head.

They are easy to use and don't really have to stay in your hair all that long for you to get the look you want. It is also nice because you don't have to try and find an electrical outlet. You just put them in and can go about putting on your makeup until you are ready to take them out.

I used electric hair rollers for years, and still have a set of them. Once I began using the velcro rollers though, I find that is what I use most of the time.

Even if your hair is still slightly wet, they are very easy to put in and finish drying your hair with them on your head. If you used the biggest ones, they really add a lot of volume and not as much curl. If you want more curl, just use the smaller rollers.

They seem to last a long time too. I can't remember the last time I had to replace them. I usually have to buy more because I lose them or leave them somewhere, not because they have worn out.

I have several sets of velcro hair rollers in different sizes. It all depends on the look you want for that day. I think they are much easier to use than sponge hair curlers. The bigger the roller, the more volume you can give your hair.

You don't have to worry about electricity and they are very easy and portable to take with you when you travel. The smaller sizes will fit into the larger sized rollers, so you don't have to take up a lot of room in your bag if you want to take more than one size with you when you travel.
